Phoenix Sports vs Punjab United, SCEFL Premier Division, The Christopher Russell Stadium, Saturday 1st November 2025, 3:00PM KO

Punjab United hit the road this weekend as they travel to Phoenix Sports for a highly anticipated Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division clash at The Christopher Russell Stadium. Both sides come into the game eager to pick up three points and push themselves on to the top-half of the table.
The Opposition: Phoenix Sports
Formed in 1935, Phoenix Sports began life as St. Johns Welling, later becoming Lakeside before adopting their current name after the Second World War — a nod to the club’s rebirth, rising from the ashes of the previous sides.
Originally playing across various local grounds, Phoenix settled at Mayplace Road East, Bexleyheath, in 1950, which remains their home to this day - now known as The Christopher Russell Stadium. Over the decades, the club has grown into a respected community hub, fielding both senior and youth teams and fostering a strong connection with local supporters.
Phoenix Sports’ football journey has seen steady progression through the local and county ranks, from the Kent County League to the Kent Invicta League, and later the Southern Counties East Football League (SCEFL). Success on the pitch brought promotion to the Isthmian League, marking the highest level in the club’s long history.
This season marks another new chapter for the club, as Jake Goodman takes charge as First-Team Manager, joined by experienced coach James Marrs as First-Team Coach. Together, they bring renewed energy and experience as the team looks to get promotion to the Isthmian League.
