The Rustics were founded in 1899, joining the Tunbridge Wells League. Success came early, with their first league title in 1905. The club dominated the 1920s and 1930s, winning multiple league titles and Kent Junior Cups.
Post-war struggles almost saw the club fold in the 1970s, but a revival began in the 1980s with new players and leadership. By 1984, they had won the Kent County League Division Two and secured Division One the following year.
Moving to Jockey Farm marked a turning point, with significant facility upgrades, including the Derek Seal Suite and the 125-seater Bob Woodhams Stand. The club now boasts three senior teams and 20 youth teams.
Recent years saw promotion to the SCEFL Premier Division, relegations, and a strong 6th-place finish in 2022/23. Despite a 19th-place finish in 2023/24, the Rustics are determined to bounce back stronger during the 2024/25 campaign. The club remains dedicated to their motto: “To Be the Best Football Club Possible.”
