Stansfeld FC vs Punjab United, SCEFL Premier Division, The Artic Stadium, Wednesday 13th August 2025, 7:45PM KO

After drawing to Larkfield and New Hythe on Saturday, Punjab look towards some more SCEFL action as they take on Stansfeld this Wednesday.
The match against Larkfield and New Hythe was a strongly fought match, with Roman
Campbell and Jack Hopkins getting on the score sheet. Punjab were looking to be
leading going into the half time break, but an unfortunate penalty in the 45+2’ minute
meant Punjab was level and were unable to claw their way back into the lead, meaning they had to settle for a point.
Punjab hope to get their first 3 points of the season, as they travel to the Artic Stadium
to face Stansfeld.
Our Opposition:

Stansfeld had a difficult time in the 24/25 season as they only finished in 16th place, and found themselves battling relegation for most of their season, as they struggled to score goals, but to their credit they were able to put up am immsense fight and survive being relgated in a 3 way battle.
With this new found opportunity they will be going into every game, fighting to better their season.
In this bid to improve, Stansfeld has many key players. Chris Alhassan was a key player
for Stansfeld last season, as he scored the most goals for the team, with 9 goals in the
SCEFL, he is a quick forward, with a keen eye for goal and a keen right foot, he will be
one to watch out for.
Another important aspect of Stansfeld is their manager. Billy Shinners took the reins as
first team manager ahead of the 2023–24 season, supported by assistant manager Joe
Minter and coach Dave Mehmet. Shinners is known for his tactical changes and is
praised for his use of substitution to sway the course of a match.
History:
Stansfeld were Premier Division champions in 1994–95 and runners-up in 2002–03. Despite finishing fourth in 2006–07 the club were relegated to Division One West. However, they were runners-up in the division in 2007–08, earning an immediate promotion back to the Premier Division. The club won the Premier Division for a second time in 2009–10 and subsequently finished as runners-up in 2011–12 and 2014–15.
In July 2016 Stansfeld took over Southern Counties East League Division One club Eltham Palace. The team continued playing under the Eltham Palace name until the end of the 2016–17 season, when they adopted the present name of Stansfeld.
In the 2016-17 season Stansfeld finished in 15th place before improving to 13th for the
2017-18 Campaign. Another improvement occurred in 2018-19 as the side finished 8th
while in 2019/20 we were joint 4th when the pandemic came along and ended football for the season.Covid again cut short the 2020/21 campaign; however, it was a record year for the club as they entered the FA Cup for the first time in their history and making it into the Second Round (Proper) of the FA Vase.
The 2021/22 campaign was a successful one; becoming SCEFL First Division Champions. And also getting to the last 16 of the FA Vase, where we were knocked out on penalties. After surviving relegation last season, Stansfeld look forward to the upcoming season.
All in all, Punjab will be looking to get back to winning ways, and will be looking for their
first win of the campaign, and where better to do it than on the road.
