Punjab United had an eventful match against Rusthall, where the final score was 1-1. Alfie Moynes was able to connect in the 23rd minute to put Punjab ahead, but an unfortunate lapse in defensive judgement led to Rusthall equalising in the 42nd minute. Despite valiant efforts in the 2nd half, Punjab had to ultimately settle for 1 point with also being down to 10 men for majority of the match.

Punjab's next game will see them face off against Sutton Athletic on Tuesday night at the Steve Cook Stadium. This will be Punjab's biggest challenge of the season, as Sutton currently sit in first place on 19 points, with only 1 loss. They are a team with a great defensive presence and have a strong attacking core.

Sutton Athletic are currently managed by Peter Nolan, who took charge in August 2024 after the departure of Ryan Huckle. Since his arrival, he has been working to build stability and guide the team through their SCEFL campaign.

A key player for Sutton Athletic in the 2024–25 season was Arlie Desanges, who proved vital in attack by finishing as the club’s top scorer with seven league goals. His consistent finishing ability an instinct or finding space in the box gave Sutton Athletic a reliable man in front of goal.

All in all, this game will be an important one for Punjab, as they seek to push the leaders off their pedestal and climb the ranks themselves.
