Punjab hopes to get back on the right track against Ebbsfleet, so let's dive deeper into the side.

Our Opposition:

Ebbsfleet United are managed by Josh Wright, who took over the role permanently on 11 December 2024 following the departure of Harry Watling. He initially served as caretaker manager before being confirmed as the permanent, replacing Watling, who left after a poor run of results. Wright is supported by assistant manager David Kerslake. Since taking charge, he has focused on improving performances and steering the club forward after a challenging period that saw them relegated to the National League South last season.

Ebbsfleet have many key-players but last season, Aaron Cosgrave was Ebbsfleet United’s standout player, featuring in 32 games across all competitions and being their key player last season scoring nine goals and being their top goal scorer.

History:

Ebbsfleet United was founded in 1946 as Gravesend & Northfleet, following a merger between Gravesend United, established in 1895, and Northfleet United, formed in 1892, before changing to its current name in 2007 after a partnership with Eurostar. The club has played at Stonebridge Road, now known as the Kuflink Stadium, since Northfleet moved there in 1905, and famously drew a crowd of over 12,000 for an FA Cup tie in 1963. In 2007, Ebbsfleet became the world’s first football club owned by its fans through MyFootballClub, leading to FA Trophy success at Wembley in 2008, although financial challenges eventually led to a takeover by Kuwaiti-owned KEH Sports in 2013. Since then, the club has experienced promotions and relegations, including winning the National League South title in 2022–23, and has ongoing plans for a new 8,000-seat waterfront stadium as part of Northfleet’s regeneration.
