Rusthall FC (A) Match Preview

Rusthall FC vs Punjab United, SCEFL Premier Division, The Jockey Farm Stadium, Saturday 15th November 2025, 3:00pm Kick-Off

After Punjab had a successful outing against Hollands & Blair where they won 1-0 (Anthony Adesite 26’), they now look to turn their attention to yet another SCEFL Premier Division game which sees the Punjab boys head down to The Jockey Farm Stadium to take on Rusthall FC.

Punjab have found a lot of success in recent matches in the SCEFL where they have won 3 of their last 5 and only lost 1 with a single draw coming against Holmesdale. Punjab now find themselves in a promising position when it comes to the table, sitting only 5 points away from the playoffs.

Our Opponents:

Rusthall have had a great start to the season. They currently sit 4th in the table with 28 points and are very much in the running for playoff contention later on in the season. They are currently unbeaten at home with 6 wins and 2 draws from their 8 home matches.

In terms of players in form for the side, Louie Clarke leads the way in goals with 11

scored across all competitions thus far, a player who has been praised for his precision and clinical performances.

As mentioned, a win over Rusthall will be anything short of easy, but a win at The Jockey Farm Stadium could move Punjab into as high as 6th if fixtures go their way.

History:

Rusthall FC were founded in 1899 and began in the Tunbridge Wells League, winning their first title in 1905. The 1920s and 1930s brought major success with multiple league titles and two Kent Junior Cups.

After World War II, the club struggled and nearly folded in the 1970s before being revived by secretary Peter Smith. A new era began in the 1980s under chairman Derek Seal, with back-to-back promotions into the Kent County League and a move to Jockey Farm, now The Jockey Farm Stadium.

The club has since grown to run three men’s teams and nearly 20 youth sides. Recent years saw promotion to the SCEFL Premier Division in 2017, relegation in 2019, and a return in 2021 after two COVID-hit seasons.

Rusthall continue to grow both on and off the pitch, living up to their motto: “To be the best football club possible.”
