VCD Athletic vs Punjab United, SCEFL Premier Division, The GT Stewart Stadium, Saturday 22nd March 2025, 3:00pm Kick-Off

A great outing in Tunbridge saw Punjab came away with a 3-0 victory, with Roman Campbell walking away with the match ball after scoring a clinical hat trick, bringing his goal tally to 14 goals. Punjab look to continue this run of form against league leaders VCD Athletic.
VCD Athletic has been a force to reckon with this season. They have only lost three games in their last 20 in the league with one of those defeats coming against Punjab were they ran out 3-2 victories. Their most recent outings are a 1-1 draw away to Corinthian, a 4-0 win against Glebe and a 1-1 draw against. The man at the forefront of their attack is Ollie Freeman who currently has 21 goals this season.
It will be a challenge for Punjab to break through the “iron wall” that defence VCD holds with having the second best defensive record in the league with conceding 32 goals in 32 games. This match will really test Punjab’s clutch factor as they close in on finalising their playoff position. VCD will come out with all guns blazing as they hope to extend their lead at the top, away from a strong Faversham side.
Punjab fans are in for a great match, as two giants clash at the top of the table in search for three points on Non-League Day where all teams celebrate their love for non-league football.

Founded in 1916 by workers at the Vickers armaments factory in Crayford, VCD Athletic FC has a rich history spanning over a century. Initially playing inter-departmental matches, the club eventually joined competitive leagues, winning its first trophies in 1927.
Over the years, VCD has experienced highs and lows, securing multiple league titles and cup victories, including the Kent League Premier Division and Kent Senior Trophy. The club achieved its highest-ever position in 2014, earning promotion to the Isthmian League Premier Division (Step 3). However, managerial changes and squad overhauls led to relegation back to Step 4 and eventually Step 5.
Following a tough 2022/23 season, VCD were relegated to the Southern Counties East League after a dramatic play-off loss to Phoenix Sports. Now under the leadership of Danny Joy and Ross Baker, the club is determined to fight for a return to Step 4.
