Punjab United vs Whitstable Town, SCEFL Premier Division, The Steve Cook Stadium, Wednesday 18th December 2026, 7:45pm Kick-Off

Punjab United are back at home for some more SCEFL action. However, this time it's against the league leaders, Whitstable Town. Punjab are coming of the back of a massive three points against Faversham Strike Force in a 2-1 win with an early goal from Roman Campbell in the 2nd minute and a strike just after half-time from Will-Johnson Cole. Despite Faversham pulling one back, Punjab were able to hold on and secure three points in their first home game of 2026.
The last time we met against Whitstable Town was an opening day of the season clash where Whitstable at home edged out a 2-1 win.
This match will be one of the biggest games in the league this season for Punjab as a win would put them in contention for the playoffs with games in hand on other teams. For Whitstable, they will want to rap up the league title as early as possible and a win tomorrow night would certainly help them.
The programme for this evening's game can be seen below:
Our Opponents:

Whitstable is a team that requires no introduction. They are currently sat top of the table with an 18 point gap between them and second place Fisher. They have been ruthless this season scoring 70 goals this season and they are the current holders of the Isuzu FA Vase, something Punjab are trying to replicate this season.
In terms of form, Whitstable are currently on a 20 game unbeaten run in the league winning their past two league games.
History:
Whitstable Town FC, based in Whitstable, was founded in 1885 and has played at the Belmont Ground since 1888. The club joined the Kent League in 1909, enjoying early success including multiple Division Two titles and winning the Kent Amateur Cup in 1929.
After periods in various leagues and financial struggles mid-century, the club rejoined a reformed Kent League in the late 1960s. Notable moments include a dramatic Kent League Cup win in 1980 and a record-fast goal in 1989. They won the Kent Senior Trophy in 2001 after a marathon penalty shootout.
Whitstable achieved their greatest success in 2006/07, winning the Kent League and earning promotion to the Isthmian League. After relegation in 2016, they rebuilt and returned to the Isthmian League in 2018 following strong league and cup performances.
Recent years have seen major development, including a new 3G pitch (2022), a youth academy, and improved league finishes. The club’s biggest achievement came in 2024/25, winning the FA Vase at Wembley, beating AFC Whyteleafe 2–1 in extra time, in front of nearly 10,000 supporters.
