Tunde Aderonmu to remain at Punjab United for the 2024/25 Season

Punjab United are pleased to confirm that striker Tunde Aderonmu will be staying at the club for the 2024/25 season.

The striker joined the club last season making two appearances, scoring one goal but unfortunately, he picked up an injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season. However, Tunde has had a proven track record scoring 24 goals in a title winning season for Erith & Belvedere back in the 2022-23 season. Other clubs include Beckenham Town where he was a key player for them. This is Tunde's second spell at the club where he joined us in our first season in the SCEFL Premier Division.

Tunde Aderonmu said, “I’m delighted to be staying at Punjab United this season. I feel that I have unfinished business this season with unfortunately picking up an injury that set myself out for the entirety of last season. However, I've been working very hard to get back to full fitness and I am ready for the new season. Chipie has set his main target of securing playoffs and I feel like with the squad we have, we are in a position to aim for that. I'm hoping I can contribute to the team by scoring goals and hopefully we can go one step further than last season."

Manager - Chipie Sian: "I initially signed Tunde last season to be our main No.9. He had such a good start in pre-season scoring against Erith & Belvedere but unfortunately got injured and that ruled him out for the rest of the season. Despite this, he came to watch most games while being injured which shows a real commitment he has. He's been working well off the pitch to get back up to full speed and hopefully we can experience this in the upcoming season. He almost feels like a new signing to me so it's great to have him back."

Everyone at Punjab United would like to give a warm welcome to Tunde and we look forward to watching you soon!

And as our committee member Navin Pal would say, Tunde is massive everywhere he goes!
